How to import Chrome bookmarks into Mneeemo

Use your HTML file, check folders and counts, and understand file size, duplicate handling, and per-import limits.

To import bookmarks into Mneeemo, upload Chrome's exported HTML through Settings → Library → Import links from Chrome. Then inspect the summary and a sample of the records. This workflow accepts files up to 5 MB and processes up to 2,000 links per upload.

1. Check the HTML before uploading

Keep the original file and open a local copy to recognize titles and folders. Use bookmark HTML, not an ordinary web page saved by the browser. The importer reads HTTP and HTTPS link entries; other protocols are outside this workflow.

Start with a small selection or the public example below. Importing requires access to your account's library. Files over 5 MB are rejected; there is also a limit of three import attempts per hour per user and IP address.

2. Upload through the library settings

Sign in to Mneeemo, open Settings and the Library section. Select “Import links from Chrome”, choose the HTML file, and wait for the response. Avoid submitting again while the operation is running.

Up to 2,000 recognized entries are processed per upload. With more entries, the summary indicates truncation. Do not treat that as a complete import; prepare smaller, checked selections rather than submitting the same file repeatedly.

3. Understand folders and duplicates

Nested HTML folders become path names such as “Course / Form”. This does not create a subfolder tree in the app. Names are limited to 80 characters; check long paths that may become identical when shortened. Links without a recognized folder go to the inbox.

Import identifies duplicates through the normalized address. It does not compare page content or merge existing notes. Available titles and dates are used; tags, notes, and descriptions are not recovered from HTML, and this step does not organize links with AI.

4. Check the summary and find a reference

Read the counts for imported links, duplicates, invalid entries, created folders, and truncation. These numbers answer different questions; the number of new links need not equal the number of file entries.

Open a folder, check the title, and visit a familiar destination. Then search for an imported title or domain. If the operation fails or is incomplete, check your library before trying again: some records may already have been created. Preserve the original until this review is complete.

Importing brings references over; checking counts, folders, and destinations helps you trust the result.

Questions you might have

Do Chrome subfolders become Mneeemo subfolders?

Their path becomes a folder name separated by “ / ”. Check the resulting name; it is not a reproduction of the original tree.

Does reimporting update notes on an existing link?

No. The workflow avoids inserting an existing normalized address and does not merge notes, tags, or context on existing records.

What if my file exceeds a limit?

Prepare smaller bookmark selections and check each file before uploading. Increasing or repeating a file does not remove the 5 MB, 2,000-entry, or hourly attempt limits.
